The Washington DC Triathlon LLC regretfully announces the cancellation of the June 17 triathlon to be held in Washington DC . The event, which is held on National Park Service property, was recently denied the required Park Service permit for the 2012 race. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and the loss to the triathlon community. The event will work with those registered by transferring their registration on request to one of six races listed below or provide them a registration refund. Please note that race transfers and refunds are available only until March 28 when registration fees become non-refundable and non-transferrable. On behalf of the Washington DC Triathlon staff, we apologize for the inconvenience and invite you to select from the following options regarding your race registration:
Should you choose to select to transfer your registration, you will be notified my March 31st with instructions on how to register for the new event. If you are a registered participant for the 2012 Washington DC Triathlon, please contact us to select your option. We appreciate your understanding. |

5150 Series
|
The 5150 series is an International distance triathlon consisting of: 1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run. It is the largest international distance triathlon series in the world and is the first non-drafting international race series of its kind, offering a competitive platform for professional and age group athletes. The Hy-Vee Triathlon hosts the 5150 U.S. Championship, offering professional athletes the opportunity to compete for $1 million in prize money. DC Tri Pros On America's Main Street Paul Matthews from Santa Cruz, CA and Alicia Kaye from Maynard, MA were the top pros in the 2nd Annual Washington DC Triathlon, part of the 5150 Triathlon Series, which took place today in the nation’s capital, featuring a field of more than 3,000 competitors, from 433 cities, 43 states and 11 countries, including 41 professional triathletes. |
