The 2nd Annual Washington DC Triathlon™ will take place Sunday, June 19th, 2011 in the nation’s capital. Brought to you by the producers of The Nation’s Triathlon™, this event features Olympic and Sprint distance courses that offer breathtaking vistas, monumental landmarks and a finish line on America’s Main Street, Pennsylvania Avenue in the shadow of the U.S. Capitol Building. A USAT-sanctioned race, the Sprint distance course includes a .8K swim in the Potomac River, 20K bike course along DC’s most scenic parkways and a 6.7K run through Washington’s monumental corridor. The Olympic distance course includes a 1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run. A swimming, biking and running tour of the most powerful city in the world, the Washington DC Triathlon™ features one of the country’s most exhilarating and spectacular triathlon experiences ever. Join us in Washington, DC in June for the people’s triathlon and America’s most exciting triathlon event. |

The DC Tri was host to the 2010 Newbie Triathlon Challenge. Over 825 triathletes completed their first triathlon on June 20th, with just under 200 completing the Olympic distance and over 625 competing in the Sprint distance. Congrats to all our Newbie Triathletes on their first race! Thank you to our Newbie Triathlon Programs, including DC Tri Club, National Capital Area YMCA Tri Club, Team Lipstick, Team Evolution’s Compete to Complete and Georgetown Running Company’s Try the Tri Program. If you’re a new triathlete interested in joining a triathlon training program for the 2011 Newbie Triathlon Challenge, please check back in as we get closer to registration opening. |

"The Ultimate Swim/Bike/Run Clinic in DC" was a great success and helped triathletes prepare for event day. Clinics will be offered throughout Winter 2010 and Spring 2011 to get you ready for the 2011 DC Tri, so check back in as we get closer to the event. |

What do I get for my entry fee?All participants receive a high quality technical shirt, goody bag, commemorative medal, free refreshments at the finish line festival, and a post race party you'll never forget! Plus, everyone receives free entry into the Expo race weekend.
When does registration open?Registration for the 2011 race will open on October 1, 2010.
How can I prepare if I am a new triathlete?If you are a new triathlete, you’re welcome to take part in our Newbie Challenge. Starting in Winter 2010 and Spring 2011, new triathlete programs will begin. Check out our Newbie Info (link to newbie tab) for more details and program information.
